My name is Parker King, and I have a passion for writing expertly crafted, highly engaging, quality content for clients.
I’ve been enamored with writing and communicating for as long as I can remember. In high school, I would have chosen an essay over a test any day.
That’s why it only took me a semester as a pre-pharmacy student (RIP Chem 101) to realize I needed to relocate to the English department.
I spent the next four years happily tutoring students at the campus writing center and typing away on my own research projects and essays.
Next, I took my BA degree and trusty MacBook from Presbyterian College to Clemson University, enrolling in the MA in Professional Communication program.
During my time at Clemson, I was challenged and stretched daily, deepening my research, writing, and digital design skills.
I also unlocked a new passion at Clemson – teaching. I spent a year of my time at the University teaching freshman composition and continued to teach in the college classroom after graduation.
While teaching writing was rewarding, I still dreamed of writing professionally.
When an SEO agency in my area contacted me about joining their team’s content department, I jumped into the exciting new opportunity.
Though I began as a writer at the agency, I soon became the content director, shifting from just writing content to:
- Overseeing a team of writers
- Managing editorial calendars
- Editing and publishing blog content
- Collaborating on SEO content strategies
- Engaging with site owners
- Continuing to write high-level pieces for clients
My favorite parts? Brainstorming with my team, communicating with clients, and researching and crafting compelling content that converted.
That’s why I made the decision to start my own business, leaving the office behind to pursue a full-time career as a freelance editorial writer, and I’m so glad I did.
Freelancing has allowed me to pursue writing opportunities in the niches I know best, like personal finance, insurance, and Christian content.
Whether you’re looking for educational posts, listicles, reviews, expertly sourced stats pages, or highly focused pieces that are critical to your site architecture, I’ve got you covered.
Over the years, I’ve built a solid relationship with my clients, taking the time to understand their site’s unique needs and consistently providing them with high-caliber articles.
“Love what you do, and you’ll never work a day in your life.”
We’ve all heard the quote above, but it really does resonate with me. I feel incredibly blessed to get to wake up and do what I love daily.
An Enneagram 7 and an ENFP through and through, my career couldn’t be more perfectly suited to my personality.
Building my own business has allowed me to pursue some of my other passions and pastimes, like:
- Exploring new places with family and friends
- Cheering on my alma mater. Go Tigers!
- Attending concerts
- Playing with my dogs
- Camping
- Binging new series on Netflix
- Reading or watching Pride and Prejudice (the BBC version, of course)
Freelancing also lets me travel frequently, so your content may be coming at you from a flat on the River Thames, a beachfront balcony on the Gulf of Mexico, or a hammock by the river in the Great Smoky Mountains.
Wherever I am, I love connecting with new clients and seeing how my skills and interests match up with their goals and content needs.
I look forward to getting to know you!
